A lot of the teams we play are high pressure deny defenses. They are more athletic than us. We’ve been running it for 4 years and I am still struggling with the effextiveness against teams that can deny hard. Any tips or tricks out there that anyone is using to help? Thanks for the feedback in advance.

I suspect that your team is playing too close to the 3 pt line (Read Line). Move your spots 4-5 feet (or 1.5 meters) outside of the 3 point line and drill your Read Line and Dribble-At drills.

Been working on this for a few weeks and it has been effective. Thanks for the feedback.

Does anyone have any good ideas for entries to start the R&R offense? Maybe a double stack, etc.? We have a group of young HS girls that struggle getting open on the wing. The read line and fill action is difficult for them and their passing needs improvement.

Could force action by having wings screen down for players in the corners – Could use a flare screen in the opposite direction. If players are cutting hard and filling hard the fill should be open – Maybe they aren’t cutting hard enough? simple box with a screen down and everyone pops after the screens. – Rick is in favor of banana cuts because of fill rules but you could always make plays v-cut to get open.

    Hope this helps.
