I have this in a PDF (where the alignment is much better) available. If you’d like it emailed to you let me know.

    Better Basketball – FUSION

    OFFENSE- Read and React

    DEFENSE- Six Modes
    1.) Baseline
-Chance to rehearse Offensive Action without D on the floor
    2.) Two Hand Hold
    -Over-training for the Defense
    -Focus on Feet and Position
    -Cannot cheat with hands
-Can use Ball for Contact (in certain situations)
-Easier for Offense to Passes and Shot
    3.) One Arm Tuck
-Can switch arms when situation demands it and can use other hand to deny
    4.) One Ball Dribble
-A Player Development aspect where hand dribbled with changes as situation demands
    5.) Two Ball Dribble
-Evens out skills level differences between teams. Everyone on floor could get a shot (O and D)
    6.) Composite
-Defensive position dictates Ball placement-great way to check D skills-Pin Screen Dribblers/Back Screen Tuckers
Note: Opportunity to have Players with extra basketballs to Communicate and make a good Game-like Pass, Closeout/Block Out/Checkout

    PLAYER DEVELOPMENT-
    Defense-
    1.) Close out efficiently
2.) Contest a Shot without fouling
    3.) Check-out and Block-out without fouling
    Offense-
1.) Catch and Shoot 2.) Shot Fake & Drive 3.) Fake, Drive, Stick, Up & Under 4.) Fake, Drive, Stick, Floater 5.) Fake, Drive Stretch Lay up 6.) Fake, Drive, Stick, Pivot Away
7.) Fake, Drive, Pull Up Mid 8.) Battlefield-contact Lay up 9.) Hop Back 3
10.) Work on your game…Player Choice-what do you need to work on

    COMPETITION –
    Moneyball-Rehearsal Shot=5 pts remaining 4 shots = 1 point each…gotta call out score/Communication
-It Increases their Focus on making shots (not just “getting shots up”)
-Provides another chance to work on Communication
-Creates the HABIT of knowing TIME, SCORE and SITUATION

Wild Scrimmage-On “cue” (music) D tosses off balls and it’s live 5 on 5
Note: Use to Train and Diagnose

    COMMUNICATION-
The system inherently calls for Communication-call partners name before passing them a Ball, Offense calls out the Action they are performing, Defense can Communicate where they are on D

    CONDITIONING-
An hour of Fusion, run efficiently, is a good workout in itself
