Thanks for the replies. say a pass goes wing to corner and the wing cuts. The corner gets trapped and they deny the fill coming from the top to the wing. The corner is now within the 5 seccond call and the wing player is late getting there and doesn’t have time to cut and next player fill. Do you have a weakside short corner or wing flash to high post area?

So when a team is playing say an extended 131, how do you apply the read line rules because basically both wings of the 131 are above the read line and would force a continual basket cut with no “showing to the ball”. What do you use as your new “read” line without confusing the players

How does it work if you run a quick hitter such as high pnr with a pin down occurring simultaneously or a zoom action all of which appear to contradictory to the circle movement?

Rhanks Rick,
I like the semi structure concept because we have too many kids just cutting all the time. We teach interchanges and not always a direct basketcut depending on space availbility, cut when defender doubles, 45 flash on baseline drive, etc. Does this allow too much freedom in the read and react? -
Are you referring to basically a flare screen one spot away as the best player cuts out?

It does thanks. If you use a random color, the other team will think ” gold is the PNR” etc.
