I have noticed some players really struggle with this. Even after playing for a few years, they seem to not know where they are on the court and certainly struggle with recognizing where their teammates and opposing players are. For some players this is a major stumbling block. I know some players seem to have an innate ability to see others and the advantages/disadvantages associated with people in different positions but the ones that don’t – are you aware of any drills to enhance this ability? Thanks

I based the Read & React off of SPOTS (perimeter and post) because of the problem you just mentioned. The whole system is meant to improve that aspect. So, every Read & React drill is designed with this at its heart. Example: Baseline Drive: The penetrator knows ahead of time what windows will be filled by teammates: Opposite corner, 45 degree, 90 degree, and Safety Valve.
